Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 18-5, 18 May 2018, at Local 655 Office
Meeting called to order at 11:08 AM. Present: Reskin, van Eck, Apana, Aron, Bravo, Corey, Dixon, Folse.
MMC to approve minutes of April 18, 2018 meeting.
Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report,
membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on
meeting with Kaye re Salute to Vienna contract; correspondence from AFM
re TV negotiations; suspended members to be expelled on June 1. Kleiman
arrived at 11:16 AM.
Apana reported on new AFM agreements covering recording for Internet use.

Report: van Eck reported on communications re SFS unpaid wages.
President's Report: Reskin reported on visiting musicians
performing for Alhambra Orchestra, Greater Miami Symphonic Band, Orchid
Brass Band, and speaking to J Branzer and G Gottfried.
Committee Reports: none.
Special Orders: MMC to schedule meeting for July 25,
2018 at 11:00 AM.
Unfinished Business: MMC (moved by Aron) to appoint D Friend to Scale Committee.
New Business: MMC (moved by Aron) to reach out to MCB, IATSE, ROPA,
and others concerning access to orchestra pits for disabled musicians.
MMC (moved by Dixon) to approve up to $1200 for Southern Conference
band. Folse departed at 12:44 PM.
MMC (moved by Apana) to file charges with the AFM against S Reid for
violating AFM Bylaws by not transferring membership to 655. MMC (moved by Corey) to strongly advise musicians against performing
for SFS until unpaid wages are paid.
Good and Welfare: Discussion of OM unpaid wages. Discussion of PBO
musicians receiving deficiency warning letters. Disussion of selection
of band to perform at Southern Conference. Apana noted that there is
still time to submit additional guests for Southern Conference.
