Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 17-3, 1 March 2017, at Local 655 Office
Meeting called to order at 1:03 PM. Present: Bertolet, Satterwhite, Apana, Dixon, Kleiman, van Eck; Aron, Reskin absent.
MMC to approve minutes of February 3, 2017 meeting.
Michels arrived at 1:04 PM.
Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report,
membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on
correspondence from AFM re TV negotiations and officer education
program, Devine re MCB recording, PBO re sabbatical reminders, ICSOM re
TCO residency. Apana reported on status of office renovations, members
suspended for failure to pay annual dues, and new members.
VP Report: receipt of written report. Satterwhite reported on
preparations for BAA negotiations; discussions re issues with PBO sub
lists; BAA Miami parking issues; MISO owing musician $16,000; SFS
musicians being told not to cash checks and being threatened with
firing if they did.
President's Report: receipt of written report. Bertolet reported on NWS
visit; discussions with SSD and ICSOM re TCO residency; scheduling
meeting with MISO.
Committee Reports: none.
Special Orders: MMC to schedule membership meeting for May 12, 2017 at 10 AM, at Local 655 office.
Unfinished Business: none.
New Business: MMC (moved by Kleiman) to appoint Bonsanti and Stanley to
BAA negotiating team. MMC (moved by Apana) to postpone discussion of
Pietraszko charges until Satterwhite or Bertolet try once more to
convince him to join 655. MMC (moved by Apana) to postpone discussion
of Artserve membership until after 4/17 membership meeting.
Good and Welfare: Apana noted difficulty in getting members to submit
profiles for newsletter feature. Dixon reported on announcement about
ACO/PBO collaborations. Van Eck and Dixon reported on conversations
with musicians owed wages from MISO. Satterwhite reported on concerns
re the status of the AFM-EPF. Apana gave officers copies of Labor Notes
Beating Apathy online course materials.
