Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 16-9, 28 September, 2016, at Artserve Meeting called to order at 1:06 PM with VP Satterwhite presiding. Present: Satterwhite, Apana, Aron, Kleiman, van Eck; Bertolet, Dixon, Michels, Reskin absent. MMC to approve minutes of August 10, 2016 meeting. Apana reminded the Board about confidentiality of Board emails and that the President is an ex-officio member of all committes and should be notified of meetings. Apana also requested that committee minutes be forwarded to him for filing. Apana also cautioned Board members about publicly discussing open issues such as lawsuits and negotiations. Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members. Apana reported on communications from AFM re SRLA negotiations; Blumenthal re IEB meeting to address convention resolutions; MPTF re annual report; Rivera re assistance in promoting band competition. Apana reported on suspended members; meeting with Kula to address archival video violation; that PBO CBA ratification is in process; and that OPO will be backing Bocelli at February 2017 concert in south Florida. VP Report: receipt of written report. Satterwhite reported that Bocelli will be backed by OPO; on discussion with BAA musicians re defining the unit (for ratification purposes) as those on the hiring list and re negotiation survey procedures; on PBO moving a rehearsal date to accommodate BRPS concert. President's Report: receipt of written report. Committee Reports: Van Eck reported on Symphonic Committee meeting. Extended discussion on issues presented by committee. Special Orders: none. Unfinished Business: none. New Business: MMC (moved by van Eck) to appoint Clippard to Symphonic Committee. MMC (moved by Apana) to find M Singer guilty of failure to pay work dues. MMC (moved by Apana) to launch petition demanding payment of past due SFS wages. Good and Welfare: Discussion of various touring productions and whether local artists are being engaged to back them. Discussion of meeting scheduling and Board attendance. Apana noted that OM is delinquent in wages from April 2016. The meeting was adjourned at 2:55 PM. |
