Regular Executive Board Meeting Number 08-6, 6 May 2008 at 1:30 pm

Meeting called to order at 1:38 pm. Present: Satterwhite, Apana, Ballard, Chandler, Kerley, Potochnic; Excused: De Los Santos, Teboe.

MMC to approve minutes of April 2008 meetings.

Secretary-Treasurer's Report: presentation of activities log, expense report, membership rolls, bank balance data, and new members.

President's Report: presentation of written report. Satterwhite reported on unpaid Madonna session from July 2007 and Roitstein's offer to resolve this for $50 per hour.

Symphonic Rep Report: presentation of written report. Apana and Ballard reported on FGO musician unfair list vote, FGO lawsuits.

MPF Administrator Report: Chandler reported that she is still awaiting MPF confirmation of scholarships awarded.

Special Orders: MMC to schedule next meeting for May 28 after the Membership Meeting.

Unfinished Business: Casual Committee report: discussion of helping members to find jobs, waiving initiation fees for bands, contract guarantee fund.

New Business: MMC (moved by Apana) to increase North salary to $11 per hour. MMC (moved by Apana) to clarify that principal pay applies in all sizes of ensembles. MMC (moved by Apana) to request that the FGO be placed on the Unfair List. MMC (moved by Apana) to waive initiation fees for ensembles that join as a unit as per AFM Bylaws Article 9 Section 2(b). MMC (moved by Apana) to prepare a proposal for creation of a contract guarantee fund.

Good and Welfare: Acosta reported on his recommendation for the AFM to provide assistance to rebuild the recording department and relationships with studios and recording musicians in south Florida.
