Executive Board Meeting Number 02-4, 12 April 2002 at 12:00 Noon

Meeting called to order at 12:11PM. Present: Graves, Apana, Ballard, Luger, Roitstein; Fox excused due to personal emergency; Raimondi and Harp absent.

Presentation by Bill Sauers on union-run American Income Life health discount program he would like to offer to 655 members through a mass mailing. Sauers noted that they would not have access to our database, this would be a one-time mailing, and that members would not be contacted unless they returned a response card but that all members would receive a free $2000 AD&D policy. Sauers thanked for his presentation.

MSC to approve minutes and new members.

Receipt of Casual Rep activity log.

Receipt of VP activity log.

Treasurer’s Report: presentation of activities log, expense report, membership rolls, and bank balance data. Report on computer repairs, recent suspensions, membership rolls, budget deficit due to reduced projected income.

President’s Report: Discussion of FPO pension contribution discrepancies; CBA is about to be signed. Report on PBO pension contribution discrepancies; PBO has voted to join ROPA. MCS CBA language is being finalized. AFL-CIO is looking for a union band to perform for annual Labor Ball. Progress has been made in Pamphlet B negotiations; little action has taken place regarding the SFX lawsuit since last Board meeting.

Communications: Receipt of communications from H Skolnick, M Samet, Poger, Skelly, A Frieden, L Sigal. Discussion of Executive Board vacancy; MSC to explore finding minority candidates to fill position. Discussion of Skelly expulsion and subsequent death; MSC to submit letter to life insurance carrier requesting consideration of payment of benefit. MSC to waive $14, the difference between life member and inactive member dues less AFM obligations, from Frieden’s 2001 annual dues. MSC to waive reinstatement fee if Poger rejoins. MSC to grant Sigal a payment plan for outstanding work dues, with balance to be paid by December 2002.

Business: MSC to amend the budget as follows: increase bad bebt by $1000, reduce AFM per capita by $3000, reduce life insurance by $1000. MSC to bill for work dues all acts performing in 2000+ seat halls, regardless of if a contract has been filed. MSC to authorize $291.65 in expenses for Graves March NYC trip for Pamphlet B negotiations.

MSC to schedule next Executive Board Meeting for Friday, May 17 at noon. Meeting adjourned at 2:37PM.
