Executive Board Meeting Number 00-2, 23 February 2000 Meeting called to order at 11:05 am. In attendance were President Graves, Vice President Fox, Treasurer Apana, Recording Secretary Bahler, Randy Singer, and Guy Scafati. Minutes of 1/19/00 were read and approved. New and reinstated members read and approved. Vice President's report given by Lisa Fox. Discussion of a series of meetings that are working towards the goal of getting more recording companies to file contracts. Guy Scafati departed at 11:25. Tim Barnes arrived at 11:32. Treasurer's Report given by Jeff Apana. Discussion of billing practices for CBA orchestra's transmission of work dues; MSC to allow a 14 day grace period before payment is considered delinquent. Discussion of members delinquent in work dues from 1998 and 1999; MSC that members with delinquent work dues currently under $100 should have until April 1 to pay off, and any member with delinquent work dues of over $100, will have until June 1 to pay it off without jeopardizing their status. MSC to make a policy that after three months of nonpayment of work dues, members are suspended. President's Report was given by Peter Graves. FPO arbitrations, the PBO's new contract, Boca Pops, and the PTG contract were discussed. OLD BUSINESS More discussion on the functions of and member recommendations for the standing committees. NEW BUSINESS Discussion of creating a billing postcard for Annual Dues payments; MSC to have Apana prepare a cost analysis for discussion at the next Board meeting. Discussion of the trifold recruitment brochure for the local that is currently being created. Discussion of the format and content of the upcoming membership meeting on March 16. Discussion of office procedures; MSC to establish office meetings to set effective office procedures and to improve intra-office communications. Discussion of disciplinary problems with office staff; MSC to inform staff of problems and re-evaluate in a month. MSC to schedule the next Executive Board meeting on March 16 at 10:00am.
