Executive Board Meeting Number 00-1, 19 January 2000

Meeting called to order at 10:45 am. In attendance were President Graves, Vice President Fox, Treasurer Apana, Leslie Bahler, Holly Ballard, Tim Barnes, Rene Barge and Randy Singer.

Minutes of 12/16/99 meeting were read and approved. New member applications and reinstatements were read and approved.

Vice President's report given by Lisa Fox. Over $849,000 in contracts has been filed this year. Final revenue totals for 1999 will be available in March.

Treasurer's report given by Jeffrey Apana. At this time, $7000 in work dues is past due from the Florida Philharmonic.

President's Report by Peter Graves. Discussion of ongoing situations with the Florida Philharmonic, Palm Beach Opera, Boca Pops, Symphony of the Americas, Palm Beach Pops, Miami Chamber Symphony, and Pace Theatrical Group-Florida.

Old business: MSC to waive Wendy Stewart's first and second quarter 1999 Annual Dues due to her illness and hospitalization. A demo brochure promoting the Local created by Randy Singer was presented to the Board for discussion. Board members were assigned to chair the standing committees. MSC to approve Resolution 2 to amend the Bylaws (work dues rate of 10% for engagements booked through the referral program).

New business: MSC to waive $50 reinstatement fee for Ira Sullivan. MSC to grant Life membership status to Vinnie Perrone and Anne Hasner upon verifying their 35 consecutive years of membership in either Local 655 or Local 806. Discussion of buying a membership to BJs Wholesale Club; MSC to purchase if all of our members would then qualify for a discounted associate membership. Discussion of a referral program. MSC to appoint Leslie Bahler as Recording Secretary. Discussion of improving the receipt of dues from delinquent accounts. Discussion of attracting more members to meetings.

The proposed 2000 budget was submitted by Treasurer Apana; MSC to approve.
