Symphonic Committee Report December 2005

Committee members: Tim Conner, Matt Corey, Dina Kostic, Jennifer Potochnic, Tina Raimondi, Ben Salsbury

Gathering ideas, thoughts and concerns from committee members regarding the symphonic community in S Fl.

1. committee to create mission statement to be carried out by symphonic reps.
2. Create a 'code of ethics' bylaw for union members to discourage 'cannibalizing' other union musician's work with the intention of making a stronger, cohesive symphonic community.

Concerns:

1. Arthur Grossman. Why is he continually able to get away with his unethical behavior? Most recently paying under scale for New Year's Eve, Salute to Vienna.
2. FGO. Since the season is expanding and the orchestra will represent the area at the new PAC it's time for a CBA.

Reps:

1. Holly and Jeff are doing a good job.
2. Give Holly and Jeff more time to accomplish tasks. It is too early to think about replacing them.
