AFM Local 655 Election Committee Report
September 26, 2023
On June 13, 2023 President Reskin contacted member Scott Whitney by
phone to ask that he serve as chair of Local 655’s 2023 Election
Committee. Member Whitney accepted.
On June 30, 2023 the Secretary-Treasurer set up email account
electioninfo2023@afm655.org for the Election Committee to receive email
directly from members, and for the Election Committee to relay
nominating and election information.
On July 3, 2023 P.O. Box 742126, Boynton Beach, FL 33474 was opened at
the post office located at 6400 Boynton Beach Boulevard for the purpose
of receiving nominating petitions and election ballots.
Nominating petitions were received by the Election Committee as follows:
Sept. 6:
Nominating petition received for Jeffrey Apana for Secretary-Treasurer
in P.O. Box 742126.
Sept. 10:
Nominating petition received for Matt Corey for Director in P.O. Box
742126.
Sept. 13:
Nominating petitions received for Karen Fuller for Director and Charles
Reskin for President in P.O. Box 742126.

Box 742126.

Reskin for Director, Kendra Hawley for President in P.O. Box 742126.
Sept. 21:
Nominating petition received for Andrew Proctor for Director via email
attachment at electioninfo2023@afm655.org.
On September 26, 2023 Charles Reskin indicated by phone that he wished
to accept nomination for Director instead of President.
On September 26, 2023 P.O. Box 742126 was closed and a money order
refund of $68.50 was received.
Final slate of candidates for the 2024-2026 term:
For President: Kendra Hawley
For Vice President: no candidates
For Secretary-Treasurer: Jeffrey Apana
For Director (6 positions): Elizabeth Aron, Matt Corey, Karen Fuller,
Dina Kostic, Andrew Proctor, Charles Reskin
Since there is just one nominee each for President, Secretary-Treasurer
and the six Director positions, those candidates are automatically
elected for the 2024-2026 term, and a ballot vote is not necessary for
those positions.
There were no nominations for Vice President. Article IX, Section 6 (a)
of our bylaws states that, “Officers shall be elected for a term of
three (3) years, or until their successors are elected.” Therefore the
current Vice President, Iris van Eck, remains in that position.
The 2023 Election Committee certifies that the nominations for office
were fairly and accurately conducted, and that the election results are
as indicated above.
