AFM Local 655 Election Committee Meeting

November 18, 2014

The Election Committee met Tuesday, November 18, 2014,  at the union office, 404 S.E. 15^th St., Ft. Lauderdale. Members present: Scott Whitney, Susan Dirgins-Friend, Eduardo Martinez. Observers present: Jay Bertolet. 

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman at 11:00 a.m. and immediately recessed for 5 minutes without objection. Member Martha Spangler arrived at 11:05 a.m. and the meeting was called back to order.

The minutes of the October 6^th meeting were approved as distributed. 

The Committee discussed the guidelines for voiding ballots, and reviewed the “call” method for counting ballots.

The Chairman reported that the Committee received a total of 143 return envelopes that were matched with a membership control list. The envelope returned by a suspended member was not opened and was marked as totally void. 

The Committee then tallied 142 ballots. The results were:

The 2014 Election Committee Report, including the vote certification, was approved  unanimously.

At 1:05 p.m., the Election Committee adjourned sine die.
