The plan would increase the budget of the Toronto Arts Council by $2 million annually over the next five years; double the budgets of the local arts service organizations over the next five years; index cultural grants to inflation; and increase investments in creative industries and festivals and special events. The $35 million plan would help support the city’s 93,000 creative sector jobs and enable artists to afford living in Toronto. The plan will be voted on by the city council in November.
